Cowboys may have running backs exchange positions

The Dallas Cowboys are luckily having two excellent running backs in Marion Barber and Felix Jones, and the team is glad to see a competition for starting running back job going on during the training camp. According both backs’ health condition and workout performances, it seems that Jones may take over the starting job from Barber.

If taking Adrian Peterson, the running back in No.28 Minnesota Vikings jersey, as the best running back of the league, Jones is now closer to the standard than Barber. According to the Dallas Morning News, Jones showed up in San Antonio heavier than Barber: Jones checked in at 218 pounds while Barber tipped the scales at 214, down about 10 pounds.

Actually the two running backs had been preparing for the new season in different ways. While Jones was adding weight to avoid injuries, Barber was trying to regain some of his burst and quickness that seemed to disappear and make him an easier target to tackle. Whoever is going to be the Cowboys’ starting running back, their hard working will anyway be the team’s benefits. Without a quarterback like the one wearing No.4 Brett Favre jersey, the Cowboys now have at least as many as two excellent running backs.

Chargers LB Merriman will report for training camp despite contract issue

Just like other Chargers’ veterans such as wide receiver Vincent Jackson and left tackle Marcus McNeill, the San Diego Chargers outside linebacker Shawne Merriman is also making his efforts to get a long-term contract from the team. But unlike Jackson and McNeill, Merriman does not plan to hangout in his favorite Brett Favre jersey during the training camp. Instead, he is planning to be a full participant in the camp.

At age 26, Merriman is now almost two full years removed from reconstructive knee surgery, and working out in training camp would be helpful in improving his strength. Even if he wants to leave to play in New Orleans Saints jerseys once the contract talks breaks, Merriman still needs a good health condition to prove he can be valuable to the defending champion team.

"Because of the things he’s been through, he would benefit greatly from having a full, great training camp and getting back to doing the things he does healthy," coach Norv Turner told The San Diego Union-Tribune. I don’t care who you are, if you’re not 100 percent … there are things you can’t do that you used to do, you’re not instinctive. The way you get those things back is by going 100 mph and practicing."

Chargers rookie guard Thomas received four-year contract

The San Diego Chargers may have no a single quarterback who can be comparable to the one wearing No.4 Brett Favre jersey, but they can at least add some defensive weapons that may slow down Adrian Peterson and block Favre if the two teams have chance to meet each other in post season.

According recent reports, the Chargers have signed rookie nose guard Cam Thomas to a four-year contract worth $1.98 million. The contract is standard for a fifth-round draft pick and Thomas will get base salaries of $320,000, $405,000, $490,000 and $575,000 as well as a fourth-year escalator clause that can significantly boost the total value of the deal. The 6-foot4, 330-pounder is expected boost the Chargers’ defense with his bulk size.

During Thomas’ college football career, he totally had 83 tackles with the Tar Heels. His performance at the NFL scouting combine did not impress many people. Running the 40-yard dash in 5.29 seconds, he bench pressed 225 pounds 31 times and posted a 29-inch vertical leap. But he finished his last college season with great potential to be an excellent blocker by recording 23 tackles, 2 1/2 for losses, a blocked kick and three quarterback pressures.

Colts are looking for ways to approach contract with QB Manning

In order to keep the team’s promise of giving starting quarterback Peyton Manning a most lucrative contract in the league, the Indianapolis Colts are reportedly looking for effective method to work out the deal in an uncapped NFL year. Colts team president Bill Polian told reporters that the team will make everything clear before the current contract expires.

"What we don't know is what the system is going forward," Polian told Boston radio station WEEI's Rob Bradford Saturday night at Fenway Park in Boston, as reported by the BostonHerald.com's Rap Sheet blog. "It makes it really difficult working out a deal that makes sense for everybody because you don't know what the (salary) cap will be, what the ramifications are, how things count. All of that makes it a little difficult. We've been going slowly along with (Manning's agent) Tom Condon because we're trying to formulate some things that will fit no matter what the system is."

Manning received the promise before the Super Bowl XLIV loss to the New Orleans Saints, and the attention he attracted by winning a fourth MVP title immediately decreased after the loss. During this offseason, most people are talking about whether Drew Brees could lead the Saints to another post season win and how Brett Favre could change the new season by wearing back his Brett Favre jersey. I guess Manning may have to win the Super Bowl XLV to get his deal done with the Colts.

OT Willie Anderson wants to play again

Currently jobless offensive tackle Willie Anderson recently made an odd appearance in Brett Favre jersey and told reporters that he wanted to play again but did not expect his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals would re-sign him even though he played for a dozen seasons with them.Write for Pay

"I don’t know," Anderson told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I don’t think they want me back but they don’t necessarily need me back. They continue to build for the future and most times teams that are in contention do not add a veteran unless there is a serious need.”

Anderson also admitted that he had talked with Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis with hopes of a reunion. Apparently the discussion did not end with a promising indication, and Anderson said that he was expecting to attract interests from other teams, like the Minnesota Vikings or Indianapolis Colts. The 35-year-old tackle could not manage to receive offers from other teams until July or August, when most teams run out of their options on unrestricted free agents and turn their eyes on players outside the league.

At the moment Santarossa describes the life as an easy one. It surely is. He was given a cleaner, free laundry, a PlayStation 3 and a laptop for daily life. When his mission is finished, he will get paid 3,000 Australian dollars along with the contents of the ball and three bags full of sports gears, including even a Brett Favre jersey belonging to a famous American football player.

Visits from friends are allowed, so the life will not too boring. Anyway, as a soccer fan and video game lovers, Santarossa does not hate living alone. But he still felt uncomfortable at first because people passing by always peered into the ball through the windows, making himself feel like a human zoo animal. But at last Santarossa overcame the discomfort and found the life quite enjoyable. He even joked that he hoped the company could extend his lease.

Favre fans’ tips for keeping skin looking young

The 40-year-old quarterback wearing No.4 Brett Favre jersey is still looking young as a man of his twenties, and his fans seem also to know well on how to keep themselves looking young. Here are some tips from them; I guess they are mostly offered by lady fans.

Too keep your skin looking younger, a simplest way is to eat these foods: strawberries, tomatoes, tofu and tuna.Write for Pay

Strawberries are representative vitamin C-rich foods and would work well to help you ward off wrinkles and age related-dryness. Vitamin C is good because it smoothen your skin with its ability to mop up free radicals produced from ultraviolet rays and to synthesize collagen, which is key element to keep your skin smooth. Other foods full of VC include red bell peppers, papaya, broccoli and oranges.

Tomatoes are good because they are red. I’m not kidding, as they are red because they contain lycopene, a carotenoid that may help to keep your skin smooth with healthy red hue, the sign of young skin. Watermelon and carrots are good replacing foods to tomatoes if you do not like their strong smell.

Tofu is made from soybeans and thus is rich in isoflavones, something you need to preserve skin-firming collagen. Such collagen will prevent your skin from wrinkling even if you are exposed to ultraviolet radiation.

Tuna can be replaced by salmon, sardines and trout as long as the food is omega-3-rich fish. Omega-3 fat EPA is not only an acid that prevent your body from gathering extra fat but it also can preserve collagen and thus keep your kin looking smooth and youthful.

Tips for buying Brett Favre jerseys-Packers version

Brett Favre had his fame built up during the years with the Green Bay Packers, who acquired him from the Atlanta Falcons following the 1991 season. The Packers version of Brett Favre jersey witnessed the former Falcons third-string quarterback develop into the most stellar starting quarterback in Green Bay, even in the whole league.

Since replacing Don Majkowski to become the Packers’ starting quarterback during the 1992 season, Favre had been the team’s leading role for the remaining time with the team. He still wore the number four but was totally a different player from the one benched by former Flacons coach Jerry Glanville. As the number changed from white with red trims to green and white, Favre also changed from a draft pick bust to a most valuable quarterback. In the first season with Packers only, Favre managed to have a 85.3 quarterback rating and complete 302 of 471 attempted passes for 3,227 yards and 18 touchdowns.

The Packers version of Favre jersey has home colors of green and yellow and road colors of white with green and yellow. Favre was wearing this jersey from 1992 to 2007, and took off it in 2008 after announcing retirement but later changed his mind to join the New York Jets.

How to choose your favorite Brett Favre jerseys-Falcons edition

By so far there have been four teams’ styles of Brett Favre jerseys and uncountable Favre fans that are looking for their favorite Favre jerseys. Here are some tips fans should know when they are trying to make the best possible choices among the hundreds of online shops selling similar Favre jerseys.Write for Pay

First of all, as most Favre fans know, the number on all Favre jerseys should be only 4. Whichever team he joined, the number four has been always reserved for him. If there were already other players wearing No. 4 before Favre’s arrival, he just had to change number and gave it away to Favre, which indeed happened when Favre went out of retirement to join the Minnesota Vikings.

The first NFL jersey Favre ever wore was in Atlanta Falcons edition. Spending his rookie season with the Falcons, Favre reached no achievement at all as a third-string quarterback in Atlanta, finishing the first season with only one interception for a touchdown and never completed a pass, partly because of his bad relationship with Falcons head coach Jerry Glanville. The Falcons style of Favre jersey was issued in 1991 with orange outlines on number and name. At present, the most Falcons Brett Favre jersey available online are in the color of black.
